German Open Championship 2018

What a week in Stuttgart, Germany!!! We made our first finals at the prestigious German Open Championships and will be bringing home some hardware! We placed 5th overall with a 3rd place in tango in the Professional Master 2 Division. It was also very encouraging to receive some 2nd and 3rd place marks in a very competitive field. More importantly than the placing, we were happy with the way we danced. The GOC is one if the biggest competitions in the world and draws some of the best dancers from every continent. It was exciting to be back at this grand and amazing event.

A day earlier, we also competed 2 rounds in the Professional Master 1 Division and finished 17th. It was a very physically and mentally challenging day for us. We have had countless disappointments in our dance career and we always try to stay positive and learn from it. We regrouped and were able to bounce back for the next day. We almost scratched because of physical factors but we were proud to tough it out and finish the competition, putting Canada in the finals at this year’s GOC!

Every experience is an opportunity to learn and grow. Character is built from overcoming challenges and obstacles. We are grateful that there is never a dull moment in our dance career because all those moments make us who we are, and give us stories to share with our family, friends and students.

World Champions PD Master Class 2018

We are finalists in the World! It was a great honour for us to represent Canada again at the World Championships in Luxembourg. We danced 3 rounds and fought hard to place top 6 in the World Championships! It was our first time being judged using the 3.0 system, and we danced the 2 compulsory solo dances in the final. After 2 months of intense training, we are satisfied with what we accomplished and proud to overcome so much adversity. Tony also had the honour of reciting the athlete’s oath on behalf of all dancers. It was a memorable experience and one we will always cherish.

Thank you to our amazing coaches, Paolo Bosco and Silvia Pitton for pushing us to new heights. Thank you to Marco Cavacini for our physical preparation, and a very special thanks to Domenico for everything you have done for us, and for always being there when we need you. Thank you all for believing in us and sharing our journey!
